About HSC & CASL
Hillsdale Soccer Club (HSC) is part of the Capital Area Soccer League (CASL) which fields U-10 through U-15 teams.
CASL, a member of MSYSA, USYS, and USSF, runs boys' and girls' leagues from U9–U13 and U15–U19. Fall runs Sept–Oct; Spring runs Apr–mid-Jun; tryouts begin the third Saturday in June.

New Parent FAQ
How do I register my child?
HSC has two programs. Heat is our competitive travel team for ages 9–15 — players attend tryouts in June, then register and pay through GotSport. Wave is our skills development program for younger kids — sign up through our Wave Sign Up page.
What does it cost?
Heat: $300/year or $150/season, plus $35 for a jersey.
Wave: $130/year or $65/season. Jerseys $20 or free hand-me-downs.

When are practices and games?
Both programs practice Tuesdays and Thursdays, 5:30–6:30 PM at Field of Dreams. Heat games are on weekends (mostly Sat/Sun). The fall season runs Sept–Oct and spring runs Apr–Jun.
What does my child need for game day?
- Shin guards (required)
- Cleats or athletic shoes
- Team jersey (provided by the club)
- Water bottle
- Weather-appropriate clothing

Offsides
A player is "offside" if, at the moment the ball is played forward, they are:
- In the opponent's half
- Positioned nearer to the opponent's goal line than both the ball and the second-to-last defender
Being offside results in an indirect free kick for the defending team.

Throw-Ins
When the ball fully crosses the sideline, the team opposite to the one that last touched it takes a throw-in:
- Both feet must stay on or behind the touchline
- The thrower must deliver the ball with two hands, from behind and over the head

Points & Goal Differential
- Win: 3 points
- Tie: 1 point
- Loss: 0 points
Goal Differential (goals scored minus goals conceded) is used as a tiebreaker if teams share the same points.
