Rules FAQs
Offsides
A player is “offside” if, at the moment the ball is played forward, they are:
- In the opponent’s half
- Positioned nearer to the opponent’s goal line than both the ball and the second-to-last defender
Being offside results in an indirect free kick for the defending team.

Throw-Ins
When the ball fully crosses the sideline, the team opposite to the one that last touched it takes a throw-in:
- Both feet must stay on or behind the touchline
- The thrower must deliver the ball with two hands, from behind and over the head
